Intelligent Caregiving
Consulting and Educating Non-Professional Caregivers in the Home
So your loved one can stay at home...
Caring for loved ones

IC (Intelligent Caregiving) was created to empower caregivers in the home. We provide a way to educate clients to simplify home care. Our goal is to share our knowledge and experience to assist you in giving the best care possible without losing your mind.

We want to help you decide whether or not you are up to the challenge of caring for someone at home. Regardless of your age, size of your residence, and financial resources, we believe you can provide proper care. We want to help you do it with the least amount of stress to your body, mind and wallet.

Co-founders, Hannah Kordonsky and Lin Wells have a combined experience of over 20 years in direct caregivers. Ms. Wells is a Registered Nurse and end of life Doula. Ms. Kordonsky has a background in business and direct caregiving experience.

  • 52 million informal and family caregivers provide care to someone aged 20+ who is ill or disabled. Most caregivers in the home are NOT professionals or trained.
  • 29.2 million family caregivers provide personal assistance to adults with a disability or chronic illness.
  • 34 million adults (16% of the population) provide care to someone over 50 years of age.

WHAT ELSE I SHOULD KNOW
The number of hours per week that informal-caregivers dedicate to caregiving varies from 4 hours a week to as much as 80 hours per week.

The number of long distance caregivers in the U.S. ranges from 5.1 million to nearly 7 million.

The majority of caregivers are between the ages of 35 and 64.

Consider this...
The long term survival and overall health of the non-professional caregiver as well as the recipient of care improves dramatically with even a minimum of training.

Tip: When communicating with a loved one with dementia, eliminate distractions. Turn off the TV or radio when talking and maintain eye contact to help keep his/her attention.

"... Don't let the simple things
Become too hard to do.
I promise there is power
In those three words "I Love You".

As you enter on this journey
Let God's power guide the way.
Fill your mind with patience
And your heart with love each day."
